Equipment
- You will need a good steel metric tape measure (if you need to convert feet and inches to metric, use our converter when you select a blind).
- Some paper and a sharp pencil.
Decide if you are fitting the blind to the inside or the outside of the window recess and follow the instructions below:
Considerations
- Always measure the window in three different places for width/drop.
- Make sure there are no obstructions that would hinder the operation and position of your blind.
- Make allowances for cupboards, phone sockets, dado rail, tiles, handles, tilt and turn windows, skirting etc.
- If you are fixing multiple Blinds side by side ensure you leave a minimum of 1cm gap between each blind, to ensure they work independently of each other and fit within the space you have.
- Please note if ordering Wooden Venetian Blinds and your order is for the Blinds to be made exact, then the blind headrail will be provided with wooden returns to go with the top wood cover valance; this is an optional extra that hides the Blind headrail and the ends, it is your choice if you use them or not.

You would only use the returns if the blinds were to sit outside the recess free of window returns, and obstructions.
The Blind itself will not change in size, only the wood valance.
If you decide not to use the returns then simply cut the valance square to the width of your head rail with a small tenon saw. - Child safety WARNING
In the interest of safety consider your blind control position, please keep all pull cords and chains out of the reach of children. Move cots beds and other furniture away from blinds and install safety devices, such as cleats and cord tidies, to limit access to cords. Hanging cords can be a potential risk to children, so the greatest care needs to be taken at all times.
