Step out boldly if you’re buying someone a Christmas gift for their home.

December 8, 2015

We’ve all become domestic deities in recent years, thanks to the staggering success of TV shows such as The Great British Bake Off, Grand Designs and The Great British Sewing Bee.

So it’s probably fair to say that a gift for the home will probably go down very well with most people this Christmas — no matter what style their home is.

We’ve been tracking down some home-themed gifts ranging from the fun and funky to the truly beautiful to ease your gift shopping along and fill those empty stockings effortlessly.

The first is — ahem — actually a stocking, but we couldn’t resist the charming retro Christmas print on this stocking by Cath Kidston; a reminder of festive seasons gone by and a sweet thing to hang by the fireside.

And if you’re looking for more frosty inspiration, take a look at this Christmas tree accessorised by House of Fraser – it’s Christmas, but cool.

Not quite so cool from House of Fraser is the pug tree decoration – convincingly plain, but who can resist that face!

It would look wonderful with a warm woollen throw, such as the Aysgarth charcoal throw from Barker and Stonehouse – perfect for snuggling up next to the fire.

Marks and Spencer’s lavishly lovely natural leaf wreath looks amazing with its gold trimmings — and who wouldn’t adore that golden cocktail shaker on their sideboard?

Other metallic treasures include the gold wooden standing star from Homesense and the delightful ice mirror bowl from Kelly Hoppen.

They can start with the small and pretty, such as Primark’s jolly oven gloves with snow and tree motif, and Dotcomgiftshop’s adorable cookie cutters, shaped like fir trees.

Out in the dining room, though, you can get elegant — we love Kelly Hoppen’s Sicily champagne bucket. Chin-chin — have a wonderful celebration!
